Built in 1882 atop Peiting Tao, Kinmen County, Peiting Tao lighthouse is a round white brick tower. The lantern was damaged during WWII. A temporary triangular iron frame was erected in 1947, and the original tower was restored in 1986 with the lamp relocated to its top. Due to narrow terrain and hazardous reefs, the lighthouse was essential for maritime safety.
