Kuosheng Kan Lighthouse was built in 1957, located at Cigu Township, Tainan County, and a square cone shape iron structure painted with black and white bands. The original tower sank into the ocean due to typhoons and waves, and in 1969, the tower was completely damaged by Viola typhoon. In the following year, a new tower was built at the top of the nearby mountains.
