Completed in 1900, Chilung Lighthouse is located on the western side of Keelung Harbor. Originally it was a circular brick structure,but rebuilt in 1962 into a reinforced concrete tower. In earlier years red arc light was once used to indicate dangerous reefs but was removed after the reefs were destroyed.
