Built in 1913 on the reefs of Chamu Yu in Penghu, this octagonal brick lighthouse was painted with black and white vertical stripes. It was destroyed during WWII,and restored in 1948. It guards one of Taiwan’s most dangerous reefs, where over 800 soldiers drowned in a historical wreck.
