Eluan Pi Lighthouse, completed in 1883 in southern Pingtung County, is the southernmost lighthouse in Taiwan. With gunports and trenches, it is the only fortified lighthouse in Taiwan. In 1962, a powerful rotating Fresnel lens was installed, earning it the title 'The Light of East Asia'. It is now a prominent attraction in Kenting National Park.
